Full Suspension Cromoly/Colombus Steel bike 160mm
grabcad
For educational purposes, I am uploading STEP files of a bike frame that I designed and built (back in 2019, using 26in wheels and spare parts I had from older bikes), as well as the welding Jig assemblies (for inspiration). Hope this can help fellow frame builders. The frame used 4130 steel rectangular tubes for the rear triangle, and Colombus Zona/Cromor for the front triangle. In hindsight, I should have gone up to 38mm downtube instead of 31.8, as well as significantly stiffened the rear end. Manufacturability wise though, the frame was great and super quick to jig and weld. And all the jigs cost me very little (Front - just MDF sheet, some waterjet parts, and rear - Just waterjet plates and Mcmaster Carr spacers, bolted together)The lower pivot area is waterjet (2x 5/8in plates welded together), and all tabs/rear triangle attachments are also waterjet. Also attached is the Paragon machine works BK4003 brake adapter. I may be willing to provide some Solidworks files upon request (SW2019), if you are interested in learning how to set up all the geometry sketches properly.
