Full Size Head Model
thingiverse
In this work-in-progress project, a full-size head model is being 3D printed as a base for creating a Halo helmet. The model, sourced from GrabCAD, has been sized as close to the user's head as possible and will serve as a template for scaling the helmet correctly. Updates on the printing process include: fixing an unexpected internal void in layer 2 front, adding hollow layers for chin, front, and lid pieces, finding the optimal orientation for printing, and using opaque plastic for lids to prevent light bleed between layers. Images of the final prints will be added once completed. The user warns that some orientations may have support issues and suggests using 1/8th by 3/4 inch slotted tension pins for assembly. Printing the model is also a curious addition to have around and serves as a base for modular upgrades.
