Originally designed by tc_fea, this model inspired me to create another 3D printer. I made a 2.5X scale version with both sides and experimented with a fan blowing across the build platform while using a heated bed. In one half of the inside prints, you can see the effect of having a fan versus not; it resulted in a looser interior. This didn't impact the exterior but demonstrated the difference. Print this model at 60mm/sec with two additional shells and 0% infill. Once completed, admire your accomplishment and consider donating it to Project Shellter for hermit crabs. The shell could even house a small whale! For more details, visit makerbot.com/blog/2011/10/18/project-shellter-can-the-makerbot-community-save-hermit-crabs/.
