EDIT: 4/8/20 I've added three remixed mask adapter files. V4a adds a CPAP-sized external tube, making it easier to print. Version 4b is the same as 4a but opens up the interior for piping air to side chutes that service the mouth portion of my mask. Version 5 includes all the above features and widens the side chute area even more. I've also included a plug for the center chute of the mask if you want to close it off and only use the sides. Note that V3 is still good as a standalone filter that doesn't utilize the CPAP hose and blower parts. I've added one remixed file for the large cut-your-own filter holder, which should seal much better now. EDIT: 4/7/20 After testing several of these parts, I found my CPAP hose doesn't fit the opening on the mask adapter. I'll remix this with an external tube from a previous version. Also, the cut-your-own filter adapter didn't seal well to the blower, so I'll remix the base of the 3M adapter, which does seal well, and the top of the cut-your-own adapter. Please don't buy these parts unless you need them for someone with elevated risks or to donate to a local medical facility. These adapters allow you to make a PAPR (positive air pressure respirator) using off-the-shelf parts that can be sanitized and reused, which will help reduce PPE consumption. I've compiled these designs from across the internet in an effort to assist with the pandemic response to COVID-19. If you choose to use these adapters, I can't guarantee they'll sufficiently protect you from infection, but it's better than using a t-shirt to cover your face. The positive air pressure to the mask means the seal on the face isn't as important as other masks. This will allow you to use ill-fitting or incorrectly sized masks in case supplies become limited. I recommend printing the adapters in PETG hotter than normal to ensure good layer adhesion. Print with at least 8 walls, floors, and ceilings. PETG should withstand temperatures necessary to disinfect the parts without destroying them. I suggest using silicone or other sealant, or duct tape at the seams between the purchased parts and the printed parts as well as the seams on the purchased blower housing. If you choose to do this, please ensure the sealant is dry and there are no more fumes being emitted from it before attempting to use the device. I recommend modifying a washable fanny pack to hold the blower and battery pack. Simply cut a hole for the filter holder to stick out of the pack. The unit seems to run for quite a long time on the battery bank I used, but it would be a good idea to have two in case one runs out so you can swap them. THIS HAS NOT BEEN EVALUATED FOR USE IN A MEDICAL SETTING, AGAINST THE COVID-19 OR OTHER VIRUSES. PLEASE NOTE FAILURE TO FULLY SEAL THE PRINTED CONNECTORS, BLOWER, OR ITS INPUT CONNECTORS AND FILTER HOLDERS COULD BE DANGEROUS.
