WHAT IT IS -------------------------------------------------- Ekaggrat gave us just a few, "teaser" pieces to make the first module of the clock but he left out all the pieces to make a full functioning clock. I'm trying to make some those missing pieces since Ive already invested $70+ in parts to make a complete clock before I realized they weren't included. He had mentioned in an comment from years ago he may sell the stl's but they still aren't for sale. (I would have even bought his kit). Therefore I'm trying to fill that gap so my money isn't wasted. INSTRUCTIONS -------------------------------------------------- For the most part it's pretty much common sense where the pieces go and can tell just by looking at the pictures I have uploaded. (I'll clean up and get better pictures soon.) I have a text file describing some the more confusing parts but you should be able to pretty much figure it out without it. I will also make a quick video showing orientation of some the smaller pieces you can't see in the horrible pictures (damn Thingiverse and their low resolution requirements!!) I'm not really into making/editing videos though so forgive me. If you've never worked with the Big Easy Stepper Board before I found a good video showing what the pins on the board are for as well as some other key functions of the programming of the board itself. This covers an old version of the board but still gives you a good idea of what is going on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nafoHAhz8Ys SHOPPING ------------------------------------------------ Important Note on Shopping: I'm not a fan of shopping on AliExpress.com but you can get the parts for fractions of what you can on Amazon. Even so I wasn't able to find 15mm motors with a 100:1 gear ratio (they only had those on 10mm motors) but they sell the motors and gear assemblies separately for about $2.50 -$3.00 a piece (so around $5-$6) a complete motor). The 26guage and 32guage wire is also labeled as "spring steel" which technically is better than the standard steel on Amazon but take that with a a grain of salt. Finally the driver boards for this are ridiculous if you buy them in the States ($25+) and again are $2-$3 on AliExpress. I'll eventually add links to those parts. Unless you have too much money do not buy the geared motors and driver boards from these links!! Shopping parts list: TOOLS- Mini File set, and mini drill bit kit are likely required for this project. They have a little hand held jewelry, hand-drills (kinda like a micro-screwdriver) I'd use. Not drill bits for an electric drill. OR even better are "Nano Blue Coat CNC router bits 1/8"" Those bits chew plastic out of holes so well I can twist them through with my fingers. Combine those with the hand drill bit holder and that's big money my friend!! (I don't mean it's expensive...) I'd still recommend having a cheap dremel for these guys though. Miles better than the dull drill bits that come in the drill set. Obviously, the better your printer tuning the less whittling you'll need to do. Other tools are also basics for any Elecronics tinkerer. Soldering iron, wire,... Even his tutorial *.pdf clearly took a lot of time to make. Like I said above he wanted to sell the missing items and good for him for reaping the rewards for his hard work. I totally respect that and in no way am I trying to steal his thunder or take any credit for his hard work. However.. I feel his model could use a few upgrades and that's what I aim to do. I have a different belief in my designing work and that is to share it with the world to be enjoyed by anyone who shares the tinkering passion as I do. I've reaped plenty of others hard work for free and I too just want to contribute to the family. Thanks!!
