Introducing an enhanced Prusa Mendel structure! This upgrade includes a triangulated plate for added rigidity and reduced vibrations. Print the top_n_bracket.stl and sides.stl files or opt for the all-in-one all.stl. You'll need M8 studding (1x300mm, 2x190mm), nuts, and bolts to secure the parts. For a more comprehensive solution, consider this modification inspired by Lateral support for Prusa by Miro87043. The top part has some flexibility along the X axis, which may aid in dampening vibrations. Alternatively, it can be printed as a box or massive structure by editing the DXF and re-exporting the STL from OpenSCAD. Cleanup and parametrization of the code are still needed. A finalized version is available thanks to Justblair's work. Consider recording and analyzing frame vibrations with or without bracing at different speeds using a microphone or piezo for empirical evidence. The side brackets can also be used to brace the machine's base. Discuss this upgrade on the RepRap forums at forums.reprap.org/read.php?151,112816.
