Do not print the download labeled "Chess set." It is strictly for show as there would be no color differences and the pieces would be stuck to the Board. This chess set with all its files may look daunting, but by following the steps provided, it will seem as easy as 1,2,3, and you'll be able to show your new chess set to all your friends and family in no time. 1. It's easiest to start by first making the squares and then building out from there. You will notice that there are 3 different squares in your downloads. You will need: 4 Corner Squares (2 of each color), 24 Side Squares (12 of each color), and 36 Middle Squares (18 of each color). 2. Next, we can move to the borders. You will have downloaded 2 different kinds of borders, left side border and right side border. Both of these will combine along their flat edge to form a border along one side of the chess board. Look at the picture of the completed chess set in the bio for more info. You will need to print: 4 Right Side Borders and 4 Left Side Borders. 3. Now we have the most difficult part of the whole chess set, putting the board together. It will help to have an 18 by 18cm wood board to glue all these pieces to but it is not necessary. If you do have a board of wood, start by gluing the borders down first and then working outside in. Next, add the corner squares in the corners so that their raised sides are adjacent to the borders. The side squares line up along the sides of the board with their raised sides also touching the nearest border. Finally, we have the middle squares which form the middle area of the board in a checkerboard fashion (refer to the picture in the bio for more information). 4. Finally, you just have to print the chess pieces and clean them up, and you're ready to play a game of chess on your very own custom board. You will need: 16 Pawns (8 of each color), 4 Rooks (2 of each color), 4 Knights (2 of each color), 4 Bishops (2 of each color), 2 Queens (1 of each color), and 2 Kings (1 of each color). 5. Have fun!
