Published on February 10th, 2013, this Builders of Mosquito (BOM) list contains various components for constructing a model aircraft. It includes 1400mm lengths of 6mm and 3mm carbon fiber tubes for the wings, along with a 5mm carbon fiber rod for tie-down rods and a 4mm tube for push rods. Other parts consist of a 1.5mm steel rod for pushrods, heat shrink adhesive film, 3M hinge tape, balsa sheets in varying thicknesses, screws in different sizes, wheels with diameters of 45mm, 20mm, and 1 each, a 1300mAhr battery, motor and propeller options per instructions, a 4-channel radio frequency receiver, and a 3mm foam board sheet for the tail section. The BOM list has been updated multiple times since then. On November 20th, lighter versions of certain parts were uploaded, including the 15-degree wing joiner. On November 21st, left and right wing tips were added along with updated instructions. A major crash on December 2nd led to a week's worth of work being lost; however, new files and parts have been uploaded as they became available. Two wing designs are included in this version: one with a 150mm chord and another with a 200mm chord, both featuring a Clark Y profile for improved landing capabilities. Both wings measure 1400mm in length and are configured in a polyhedral shape. Parts are also provided for a dihedral wing if desired. The current tie-down brackets and wing mount work only with the 150mm version of the wing. On November 9th, it was determined that extending the hybrid version to accommodate an ABS model would affect flight characteristics negatively. As a result, a new longer version with a 1300mm wingspan, a 1300mAhr battery, and a larger motor is being redesigned. Updates on November 5th included an updated wing profile with joiners and wing mounts, increased lift and slightly longer chord but not yet tested. The recommended overall length for the wing is between 850-950mm, and the rear wing mount bracket has been adjusted accordingly. A zip file containing new wing parts was also added. The standard tail section (as opposed to the short tail version in the zip file) was added as well, increasing the fuselage length by approximately 68mm. Modifications were made to the ABS/PS foam hybrid plane to restore static balance and update relevant build details. All files are now available in a single zip file for convenience. The instructions provided are a guide and require experience for proper assembly, balancing, and flying of the aircraft.
