The FUG OT-65 Scout Car is the Czechoslovak version of the D-442 FG armored scout car. Hungarian military leaders had abandoned a promising domestic reconnaissance armored car project based on the WW2-era Csaba because the Soviet government promised to sell large numbers of old BA-64s from USSR reserves at a low price. Hungary never received any BAs, so the Hungarian People's Army had no wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicle from 1945 to the 1960s. The desperate need for a suitable reconnaissance vehicle and the insufficient performance of the Soviet industry - which persisted in a shortage of APCs and recon cars - encouraged the Hungarian industry to develop and mass-produce a cheap but capable enough reconnaissance vehicle. To speed up development and keep prices low, the Hungarian industry largely based the design on parts of existing civilian vehicles and the boat manufacturing experience of the Hungarian shipyards. The 3D model is made in 3ds max 2017 and rendered with mental ray. A version for mental ray 3.14 in 3ds max 2017 (native file) is also available, as well as a scanline rendering version in 3ds max 2016. The model can be exported in fbx and obj preset from 3ds max 2016, with all export formats using the material. A texture with a resolution of 4096 x 4096 and 2048 x 2048 is included in the texture folder. The layer and group are organized for easy management of the model's parts.
