Fuel Sender Standoff
thingiverse
This is a custom-designed fuel sender flow restriction and standoff created for use within a high-performance race car's fuel cell. One significant challenge with standard fuel senders in fuel cells is that the data generated can fluctuate significantly as the fuel sloshes inside the tank during normal racing conditions. This particular standoff utilizes two 2mm passages to control and smooth out the flow, resulting in more accurate readings. It securely presses onto the bottom of the capacitance fuel sender, ensuring a snug fit without damaging the fuel cell bladder. The design allows for maximum sender length and precise fuel level monitoring until the fuel level reaches an extremely low point. The standoff features a 26mm diameter at its base and stands 8mm tall overall. Initial prototypes were printed in PLA, but the final version was created using Taubman Nylon Alloy 910 due to its superior fuel safety properties. As the designer of this component, I emphasize that users must exercise caution when utilizing it within their own fuel cell systems. Components can be subjected to extreme stress and unforeseen forces, which may affect performance or longevity. Therefore, I offer no warranties, express or implied, for this product. The user assumes all risks associated with its use, including damage, injury, or death, by incorporating it into their application.
