To meet our testing requirements, we obtained multiple FTDI FT232R-based USB-to-serial converters (http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/ICs/FT232R.htm). FTDI's evaluation board (http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/Modules/DevelopmentModules.htm#EVAL232R) was suitable, but a case was needed. Enter the MiseryBot! Following the photo sequence, I assembled the parts using black ABS plumbing cement for a tight fit. Clamping is recommended to ensure proper adhesion.
