FTC REV Pulley Guard 2017
thingiverse
This is a simple safeguard for REV Robotics 15mm Extrusion and 10mm Small Pulley Bearings. REV's pulley bearings are top-notch, but you often want something to ensure the cable doesn't slip off the pulley - thus these "pulley shields". The shields are only 12mm wide, meaning they're smaller than the width of the extrusion (15mm) so several can be stacked side-by-side. The pulley is to be mounted in the U-shaped section of the shield and attached to a REV extrusion using a 12mm or larger M3 hex cap screw. The other hole in the shield can have a smaller M3 screw and keeps the shield from spinning in place. The shield has slightly raised ridges at the hub of the pulley to reduce friction between the pulley and the shield. Technically, the ridges form unsupported overhangs; your printer's ability to reproduce these may vary. FTC 7172 has used these on many of their robot designs and they work well to keep cables in place around the pulleys.
