FTC 2016-2017 Velocity Vortex Mini Model(Updated-Printable beacons)
thingiverse
Velocity Vortex is a miniature and printable version of the FTC field this year. The design includes corner pieces that can be slipped into place using 12 inch by 1 inch plexi-glass or other semi rigid materials like cardboard. A blue and red ball, one from each NXT kit, serves as the perfect cap balls due to their size. We are considering using ping pong balls for their lighter weight. If you see team #8417 competing, give us a shout! We appreciate any suggestions, comments, or ideas you may have. -Eric, Co-captain, Lead Programmer, and CAD Specialist- Print Settings: Printer: Robo 3D R1 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .1 except .2+ for corner goals Infill: Doesn't matter Notes: I did not make the entire field printable as a solid piece due to small center goals requiring support structures. The beacons were also not made printable for similar reasons. UPDATE 2/25/17 - Beacons are now printable and the center goal base has been oriented for more realistic prints. UPDATE 3/9/17 - Center Goal Support was fixed but may still require rotation in Cura to print flat on the bed. UPDATE 3/14/17 - A picture of our finished mini field is included as the default image. We recommend printing the center goal at 1.25 times its original scale for more robust pillars.
