FT817 Stand/leg

A simple retractable stand for the Yaesu FT817/FT818 based on a design seen on eBay is created. Planning to CNC machine this out of 2mm aluminium plate was abandoned in favor of creating a 3D print to test tolerances and it works so well that leaving it as is seems like a good decision. Print two pairs of legs and washers. Remove the strap brackets from the FT817 and sandwich one washer and leg between the removed bracket and the rig. The orientation should be obvious. Adding some additional commercial nylon washers on either side of the 3D printed parts to reduce rotational friction is recommended, but it's not that critical. In addition to the prints, eight optional nylon washers plus four M2.5 x 8 or M2.5x10 depending on the thickness of the washers are required. Make sure the screws used are not too long or you risk fouling the internal PCB’s.
