FT5 Improved Y Carriages Mounts! v1.1
thingiverse
Hi, Here are the new carriages mounts I designed. 1- Left carriage belt mount changed to the left side so you can wire Y motors same colors (turn same direction) which means they can be used to link Y motors like I did if you want. 2- Gain 8mm on Z height. 3- It is much easier now to mount/remove X axis without needing to remove Y linear/carriages!! 4- The m3 nut of the X idler was moved to the lower side, so you can mount/remove the idler without needing to remove everything! Print them in this default orientation. Use support. Make them strong. Note 1: I'm using 20 toothed Y idlers which are a bit wider than the stock ones and you need to lower their position (and the Y motors pulleys as well) according to the belt mount that I made. Note 2: Depending on the accuracy of your printer, you might need to use drill bits 3mm and 5mm for the m3 and m5 holes so the screws can be inserted freely. Note 3: You might want to change the Y endstop position; I used a very simple method as seen in the picture, using a little 2020 aluminum corer. You can use a 3D printed one of course. Note 4: If you wanna sync Y steppers with double pulleys, you have to cut both of Y idler mounts a little bit so Y rails go back a bit. Update v1.1 4/06/2017: *I noticed that the Y idlers holes might not be 100% centered, so I moved the belt mount of the right mount 2mm toward the carriage (so the belt doesn't touch itself). *The default m5 holes were removed. *Un-needed areas were removed. *Belt mounts now have teeth.
