Update 20170605 To adjust the belt and provide additional clearance, it's necessary to install the FT8/FT9 components and idler on the gantry from this design. Thanks go out to "bustedparts" for pointing out the remark! Update 20170416 An extra rib was added to the support for the partcooler. A minor issue arose when the partcooler broke off while manipulating it too aggressively. Look for Aero Backplate V3.stl in the file list. This is a fresh design for the Titan-Aero upgrade on the FT5. Since the new combination is shorter, I created a more compact header based on the original designs - back and header. The base of the header aligns flush with the bottom of the stepper motor. The stepper motor remains fixed to the backplate as before. The connection between the front and back has been moved to the sides of the stepper, with cut-outs for the cabling. This ensures a more solid connection to enhance rigidity. The BLTouch is now mounted on an adjustable support attached to the front plate. An adjustable (front/rear, up/down) partcooler was designed for a 40mm fan with easier access to the mount (now located on the back instead of bottom). Printing All pieces were printed using a 0.6mm nozzle and layers at 0.36mm. The only exception is that the partcooler was printed in PC. Support is needed for the TOP-connector to the carriage and some additional support for the partcooler. Assembly Four M3x40mm bolts were used to secure the stepper motor to the backplane, leaving enough room for the Titan's bolts. The holes in the partcooler were made slightly too small for M3-bolts, so if you want to use bolts and nuts, a 3mm drill will be required. Both the BLTouch and the partcooler can be adjusted. The assembly feels like one solid block. It's a significant improvement over the old setup.
