FT style landing gear

Simple Retractable Landing Gear for Large Scale FT Style Planes. Designed Specifically for My 186% Scale Mustang. This set of landing gear, paired with a 75mm RC wheel, elevates a plane roughly 6.5 inches off the ground and mounts flush under the wing when used with traditional 5mm foam board or thicker maker foam. To ensure proper fitment, print the correct housing size. Actuation of the landing gear uses a traditional servo and push rod setup. For optimal performance, adjust the servo throw so that the servo arm is directly horizontal when the landing gear is deployed, reducing stress on the servo gears. The "trace" piece serves as a guide for tracing out where you want your landing gear to go, determining the size of the cutout needed. This feature is completely optional but provides a convenient reference point. Small plates with holes are designed to be mounted inside the housing where the strut will pivot, serving as spacers and reinforcements. Glue these in place using epoxy or another strong adhesive, as this location will experience significant torsional stress during hard landings. Mount the plates in the orientation shown in the accompanying image to ensure proper hole alignment. The small channel in the strut piece accommodates a steel rod or alternative means of securing a wheel. A 90-degree bend in a steel rod mounted within the channel provides a solid mounting location for the wheel while also reinforcing the strut.
