FT Sea Duck Hatch

FT Sea Duck Hatch

So after many flights with the FT Sea Duck, I observed the hatch leading to the battery compartment was starting to show signs of wear. Consequently, the hatch needed redesigning. I created it with tiny recesses to attach two pieces of metal (I utilized fragments from an old razor blade). The other reason for re-designing this hatch was every time I opened the existing hatch, the battery remained extremely warm even though flying conditions were easy. This hatch is not waterproof so I strongly advise against using it if you plan on keeping the Duck in or near water. I didn't design any hinges into it, instead you can simply place some tape inside the opening and along the leading edge of the hatch and secure it that way. I will post a picture demonstrating how to mount it when possible. It only took one hour to print out, and should be a quick cut, tape, and close operation!
