FT Guardian Gremlin v2 Bumper/Shroud
thingiverse
I'm fairly new to this and keep coming down too hard and sheering off the nylon screws on my gremlin. I, at first, thought I might attempt landing gear, but then remembered I had a roll of TPU that might be fun to use. My first attempt was a single-thickness bumper that followed the outside edge all the way around. It liked to fold when the screws were tightened and was ridiculously heavy. I next played with just two-screw bumpers on the corners. While this was lighter, I still struggled with keeping them straight. My final (1st?) revision was a bit of a bottom shroud that connects via every nylon screw. There are two issues that became unintentional features (IMHO): 1) I forgot to make holes for the receiver antennas. They, however lightly pinch under the shroud keeping them far away from the rotors, which I like. 2) In an attempt at reducing materials and making more room for the screws, I got the edges of the inset hole too close to the edge, causing a small gap when sliced. This actually made a vast improvement in being able to tighten the screws without twisting the shroud, so I'm pleased with this. Printing with 25% infill, this comes out at ~12.5g
