So I decided to build a more stable landing base and a battery holder/protector for my FT Gremlin. I wasn't satisfied with attaching the battery to the bottom because it wouldn't fit between the screws and they dug into the battery. It was also very vulnerable to damage on a hard landing since it was completely unprotected. As everyone knows, damaged lipo batteries are not happy. This was my main driving factor. It wasn't very stable just sitting there either, which made it hard to take off or land without tipping or hitting the blades on the ground. I also needed to find different rubber bands that fit because the black o-ring provided wouldn't fit the batteries I bought. So I thought, what the heck, let's 3D print some stuff! This module screws right into the frame bottom and has countersunk screw holes as well as antenna pass-through holes. I put the battery lead out the front so it wraps neatly around the side to stay out of the way and prevent the battery from coming loose since the wires would stop that much movement. Until I installed a buzzer, I was using one of the low voltage battery alarms by rubberbanding it to the bottom, making it easy to hook up to the balance connector as well as get a visual on the readout just by flying overhead my spotter. This module was only designed to fit the Lumenier 400 mAh 2S battery that FT sells.
