FT Cub Rear Wing Support
thingiverse
Upgrade part for the Flite Test Simple Cub RC airplane When built according to the plans, the back of the wing that rests on the fuselage is vulnerable to collapse. The force exerted by the rubber bands can bend the wing's trailing edge and disrupt its angle. Two additional supports attached to the wing in this high-stress area will solve the problem. I created two reinforced parts using PLA, then roughened their surfaces with sandpaper for better bonding with hot glue. Next, I secured the supports firmly in place using hot glue. The positioning of these supports is crucial - a few millimeters from the fuselage's edge when the wing is mounted leaves enough space for rubber band protectors (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2549633). To further stabilize the wing, I applied a thin layer of hot glue to the area where it meets the fuselage, ensuring a snug fit and preventing any sliding movement. This includes the surface of the supports themselves.
