FT Bronco trim, servo mounts, etc
thingiverse
I'm currently working on a customized Flite Test Bronco and need a few components to give it some style, as well as mounts for the servos since I moved them into the fuselage. I printed the cowl with supports and no infill. The same goes for the air intakes. The cowls fit perfectly over the motors (I'm using 2216s) with a slight clearance. I wrapped packing tape around the top front edge as pushing the cowl on was peeling off the paper from the foam. The intakes mount well on the power pod simply by pushing into the foam a bit to get a good mark and cutting out with a razor, then hot gluing them on. The various servo mounts are an ongoing process as I figure out how the servos will fit best. They're designed for 9g servos. I drilled holes in the bases so the hot glue could hold better. They're done with two walls, as well as two top and two bottom layers and 10% infill. No supports were needed. I printed them a bit slower (40mm/s) so they printed cleaner on my A8. My next plan is to attach landing gear to the bottom of the power pods. UPDATE: As winter sets in here, I've decided to build floats for my Bronco and the necessary mounts that come with them. I wanted the power pod mounts to be functional should I put normal gear back on when the ground turns green again. They're linked here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3988270). I've also included the power pod landing gear mount here, too. I've uploaded a few pics of the parts installed and waiting for a maiden flight!
