FT-857 side rails - handles
thingiverse
These rails mount seamlessly to the side of your FT-857 HF radio from Yeasu, offering robust protection and convenient handles. I've had the opportunity to lift the radio numerous times using these handles, and when printed correctly, they demonstrate impressive strength. For optimal results, I recommend printing them from a high-quality material such as PLA-Pro, Nylon, or petg. On my Creality CR-10, I successfully print these rails flat across the bed diagonally, but you can also split them for printing on smaller beds if needed. To facilitate splitting, I've included step files that can be easily imported into your preferred 3D modeling software. The model is also available on onshape.com at https://cad.onshape.com/documents/9e38a0136374184a763c2a00/w/e992ed9732fe334cbe9ed805/e/0ad063cc3ff150dca8640c59. To attach these rails to your radio, you'll need two 4mm screws. I used the rail mounting screws that came with my radio, but if you need to purchase them, ensure they're not too long or they may damage the radio. Consult your manual for guidance on side mounting screws.
