This is a precision dial indicator holder engineered to fit snugly over an MGN12 rail atop a 2020 aluminum extrusion, as showcased in the FolgerTech FT-6. My printer features a Bowden-style hotend, and the indicator is positioned below the nozzle; however, users with direct drive style extruders may need to remove the hotend for optimal alignment. This clever tool streamlines bed tramming (leveling) by providing a stable platform for precise adjustments. Insert a standard dial indicator into the mount using an M5 bolt and nut, then sweep the tool across the bed while on the rail, fine-tuning thumb screws to achieve minimum indicator movement. For accurate results, perform this adjustment with the bed heated to printing temperature, as the bed's topology changes significantly with temperature fluctuations.
