FT-5 Y Motor Mount variations
thingiverse
Y-Motor Mount brackets designed specifically for the FT5 printer. These brackets are engineered to pair seamlessly with the Y-Idler brackets, ensuring complete removal of the melamine. Variations have been created for both types: those featuring 2028 corner brackets and those without. When utilizing the 2028 brackets, users may encounter an issue where the stepper motor collides with the 2028 before reaching the rear adjustment limit. To address this problem, I incorporate stepper dampers which effectively lower the motor, preventing any potential interference. A crucial update was implemented on February 23, 2019: the thickness of the bracket was adjusted to 6.5mm, allowing for optimal M5x10 bolt tightness without causing the bracket to bottom out on the 2020 rail. On February 24, 2019, a further adjustment was made by reducing the thickness to 5.5mm. This modification provides the M5x10 full thread contact with the T-Nuts, ensuring a secure connection.
