FT-5: Scorpion Layer Cooler (E3D Titan-v6)
thingiverse
Based on the original design of the FT-5 C-Cooler, I created a custom fan setup for my stock shuttle configuration featuring an E3D Titan hotend and a v6 extruder. My goal was to optimize airflow around these critical components while maintaining a sleek and compact profile. The first step involved selecting a suitable fan that could effectively cool the hotend without generating excessive noise or vibration. I opted for a high-performance fan with adjustable speed control, allowing me to fine-tune its performance according to my specific needs. Next, I designed a custom mounting system to secure the fan in place while ensuring easy access for maintenance and upgrades. This involved creating a sturdy yet lightweight frame that could be integrated seamlessly into the existing shuttle design. To maximize airflow around the hotend, I implemented a cleverly designed ducting system that directs cooling air directly to the critical areas. This innovative approach not only improves heat dissipation but also reduces the risk of overheating and related issues. Throughout the design process, I carefully considered the compatibility and integration of various components, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free assembly experience. By leveraging the strengths of the E3D Titan hotend and v6 extruder, I was able to create an efficient and reliable cooling system that meets the demands of my 3D printing needs. The result is a highly effective fan setup that not only enhances the performance of my stock shuttle but also showcases the versatility and creativity of DIY 3D printing enthusiasts.
