FS1856 Palatki Grotto Panel 15 Detail
sketchfab
This area of Palatki Grotto Panel 15 showcases a complex superposition of probable Archaic, Sinagua, Yavapai, and Apache pictographs and scratched petroglyphs. A multitude of "historic" (older than 50 years) and modern graffiti exists here that cannot be erased without damaging the underlying ancient glyphs. The initials on this panel predate 1910 and were created by early local homesteaders who settled in the area. This model is part of an ongoing project aimed at evaluating the superposition of Archaic and younger imagery over older petroglyph scratching.
