The Palatki Grotto Panel 17 is a small but significant area showcasing faint pictographs, carefully arranged in intricate superposition with extremely fine scratching believed to date back to the pre-historic era. A Sinagua zoomorph is clearly visible on the right side of this model, positioned at a precise right angle to the weathered surface above it. Just to the left lies a sub-panel featuring an elaborate series of overlying pictographs. This intricate rock art panel boasts numerous instances of superposition between Archaic, Sinagua, Yavapai, Apache, and historic graffiti. As part of an ongoing project, this model is designed to assess the superposition of Archaic imagery over older petroglyph scratching.
