This is a small portion of Palatki Grotto Panel 17. The panel area showcases a Yavapai charcoal "Akaka Wasiva", an uncertain Apache zoomorph, and numerous Archaic, Sinagua, Yavapai, and Apache pictographs and petroglyphs. The ladder-like glyph's origin is unclear, with possible connections to either Sinagua or Yavapai traditions, or perhaps it is a modern graffiti addition. This complex rock art panel features multiple layers of superposition, blending Archaic, Sinagua, Yavapai, Apache, and historic graffiti elements in a rich tapestry. This model forms part of an ongoing project to analyze the superposition of Archaic and younger imagery over older petroglyph scratches.
