This is a small portion of Palatki Grotto Panel 15, featuring an Archaic snake image with a duo tone in association with high-level Archaic, Sinagua, and Yavapai imagery on the rock face. Above the snake glyph, an Archaic vertical line array with Sinagua additions is prominently displayed, typically representing water symbols. Below the snake glyph, a charcoal Yavapai copy is visible. This complex rock art panel showcases multiple instances of superposition between Archaic, Sinagua, Yavapai, Apache, and historic graffiti. The model presented is part of an ongoing project to analyze the superposition of Archaic imagery over younger petroglyph scratching.
