FS1830 Palatki Grotto, Panel 15 Detail
sketchfab
This is a small area of rock art panel 15 at Grotto Alcove, Palatki Heritage Site in Red Rock District, Coconino Forest, northwest of Sedona, Arizona. A small portion of Archaic rake symbol pictograph appears to be superimposed on probable older vertical petroglyphs and younger Sinagua or Apache scratches. The age of oldest scratches remains unknown at this time. This is part of an ongoing project to document risk sites and rock art as well as evaluate pre-Archaic imagery in the Verde Valley. More information about Red Rock District, Coconino Forest can be found at http://www.sedonaredrocktrails.org/ and http://www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation.
