FS1697 V bar V, Panel 6 Petroglyhs & Lichen
sketchfab
This is a lichen-covered region of a Sinagua rock art panel located within the V bar V heritage site, south of Sedona, Arizona. As part of an ongoing study on the effects of natural processes on native rock art in the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest, this model highlights one aspect of the research that will be expanded upon. The panel is more than 90% covered with Sinagua petroglyphs, but accelerated lichen growth has obscured and damaged almost every image on display. This model is situated to the upper left of FS1696, which exhibits slightly less lichen coverage. This model forms part of an ongoing initiative aimed at documenting rock art sites within our heritage preserves that are threatened by natural deterioration or vandalism. The Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest offers a wealth of information through various websites.
