FS1694 Kendrick Mt, Cabin Exterior #1
sketchfab
Kendrick Mountain Lookout Cabin (Kaibab Forest) was built in 1911 to support use of the fire lookout tower higher up the mountain. The historic cabin was saved from destruction during the 2000 “Pumpkin Fire” by Forest Service Fire Fighters wrapping it in fire resistant material and clearing fire zones around it. The cabin was restored by Kaibab Forest Service staff and volunteers. The following link chronicles the work that all the partners have done, https://www.facebook.com/KendrickCabin/ The apparent holes in the metal roof are an artifact of the modeling process and will be “filled” in future edited versions. The actual roof is complete without holes. Information about volunteer opportunities in the Coconino Forest including the creation of the 3D models and other projects by the Sedona Friends of the Forest can be found at http://www.friendsoftheforestsedona.org/ Information about the Kaibab Forest and the restoration project can be found at https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/kaibab/workingtogether
