A highly detailed 3D model was created of a pivotal Sinagua petroglyph element on Panel 2 at V bar V Heritage Site, located just south of Sedona in Arizona's stunning Red Rock District within the Coconino Forest. The model's photographs were expertly captured using an electronic flash to meticulously highlight the intricate details of the indirect percussion method employed by the Sinagua pre-historic culture around 1100-1200 AD. This groundbreaking 3D model is a key part of a significant ongoing project aimed at documenting and preserving "at risk" rock art at our Heritage Sites, which are threatened by natural degradation or vandalism-related issues. Further information about the breathtaking Red Rock District within the Coconino Forest can be found on these websites: http://www.sedonaredrocktrails.org/ and http://www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation. Individuals interested in contributing to the preservation of the Coconino Forest, including the creation of 3D models like this one and other exciting projects, can explore volunteer opportunities through the Friends of the Forest Sedona organization at http://www.friendsoftheforestsedona.org/.
