This model documents "at risk" features at Heritage Sites within the Coconino Forest due to natural or vandalism related concerns. The large gear wheel showcased is used in farm equipment at Pendley Historic Ranch, situated inside Slide Rock State Park. This item dates back to the early 1920s and 1930s and is one of many tools on display at the park. Originally established in the late 1800s, Pendley Ranch grew into a significant fruit supplier through its multiple onsite orchards until the mid-20th century. The site is now managed, maintained, and protected by Arizona State Parks system.
