This model plays a crucial role in an ongoing endeavor to document "at risk" features within Heritage Sites situated within the Coconino Forest, which are threatened by natural or vandalism-related issues. The stone step area on the east side of the Pendley Cabin's outer boundary wall is located near the south side lawn and garden. The stone steps exhibit substantial fracture and damage to the cement that holds them in place. Fragments of what appear to be wooden gate framing remain, but the full gate structure has been lost. The Pendley Cabin is a historic settler cabin dating back to the early 1930s, while other structures on the property date back to the late 1800s. The site is diligently managed, maintained, and protected by the Arizona State Parks system.
