This model is part of an ongoing project to document "at risk" features at Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest due to natural or vandalism-related issues. The exterior of the south wall of the south room at the Van Deren historic Cabin in the Coconino Forest near Sedona, Arizona, reveals much of the original wood is in poor condition with some interstitial wood and fill material now gone. This model highlights detail of split wall logs and insect damage. The cabin dates back to the earliest 20th century. Major repairs were carried out by the Forest Service and Friends of the Forest Volunteers in the late 1990s.
