This model is part of an ongoing project to document features at risk due to natural or vandalism issues within Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest. The interior of the north room at the Van Deren historic Cabin, situated near Sedona, Arizona, and within the Coconino Forest, displays a clear indication of its age with much of the original wood showing signs of deterioration. Almost all interstitial wood and fill material is now gone. The cabin dates back to the early 20th century. Notable repairs were conducted by the Forest Service in collaboration with Friends of the Forest Volunteers during the late 1990s.
