This model is part of a project to document features at risk due to natural or vandalism related issues at Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest. The interior of the north room at the Van Deren historic Cabin in the Coconino Forest, near Sedona, Arizona, is being captured here. The initial view shows the east wall, with the west wall removed from this model. Much of the original wood remains in poor condition, and almost all interstitial wood and fill material have been lost over time. The cabin dates back to the early 20th century. Forest Service and Friends of the Forest Volunteers carried out major repairs in the late 1990s. Further information about the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest can be found at sedonaredrocktrails.org and fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation. Volunteer opportunities in the Coconino Forest, including the creation of these 3D models and other projects, are available at friendsoftheforestsedona.org.
