This model is part of an ongoing project to document "at risk" features at Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest, threatened by natural or vandalism-related issues. The Van Deren Cabin is situated in the Coconino Forest near Sedona, Arizona. Constructed in the late 1800s, it underwent substantial repairs after the Forest Service acquired the property with the assistance of Friends of the Forest volunteers. This model showcases a roof corner detail with wall log separation, lack of mud crack filling, log breakage, minor insect damage, and dry rot. Further information about the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest can be found at sedonaredrocktrails.org and fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation. Details on volunteer opportunities in the Coconino Forest, including 3D model creation and other projects, are available at friendsoftheforestsedona.org.
