This model is part of an ongoing project to document features at risk within Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest due to natural or vandalism-related issues. This particular model focuses on the western peak of the roof structure of the main barn at the Crescent Moon Recreation Area, situated near Sedona, Arizona. The building was constructed in the 1930s. Unfortunately, this model showcases the absence of areas of wood in the roof due to weathering, dry rot, and other causes, allowing water to enter the structure and exacerbate existing problems. Other localized areas of wood degradation are highlighted in detailed models elsewhere.
