FS1554 Crescent Moon, Well House, Site 14
sketchfab
This model is part of a comprehensive project to document "at risk" features at Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest due to natural or vandalism-related issues. The north end of the east wall of the original well house at the Crescent Moon Recreation Area, located near Sedona, Arizona, showcases this effort. Constructed in the 1930s, the cabin remains relatively intact despite being fully exposed to the elements. Notably, the structure's condition is more resilient compared to other structures on site, but it still exhibits severe wood corrosion caused by dry rot and insect activity. The opening has been enlarged by small to medium-sized rodents. Additional information about the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest can be found at sedonaredrocktrails.org and fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation. Information on volunteer opportunities in the Coconino Forest, including 3D model creation and other projects, is available at friendsoftheforestsedona.org.
