This model is part of an ongoing project to document "at risk" features at Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest due to natural or vandalism-related issues. The original chicken coop located across from the Blacksmith cabin at the Crescent Moon Recreation Area, near Sedona, Arizona, dates back to the 1920s or 1930s. Despite being completely exposed to the elements, this structure remains standing with all four walls intact. Serious degradation of the wood is evident. One wall is being held up by a tree growing on the south side.
