This is the upper left corner of rock art panel 1 in the Grotto Alcove of the Palatki Heritage Site northwest of Sedona, Arizona. This panel showcases pictographs and petroglyphs by the Sinagua prehistoric Native American Indian culture, as well as probable petroglyphs from Archaic and Apache cultures. This model is part of an ongoing effort to document the progressive deterioration of the rock face at this site. You can see areas on this cliff face where rock fragments are breaking off, and fractures are being documented to determine changes over time.
