This is the central area of a magnificent rock art panel located in the Grotto Alcove of the Palatki Heritage Site, situated northwest of Sedona, Arizona. The panel boasts a stunning array of pictographs and petroglyphs created by the Sinagua pre-historic Native American Indian Culture, as well as probable petroglyphs attributed to Archaic and Apache cultures. This model is part of an ongoing research project focused on documenting the progressive degradation of the rock face at this site. The model highlights areas on the cliff face where rock fragments are spalling off, and the fractures are being carefully documented to determine changes over time. Additional information about the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest can be found on the following websites: sedonaredrocktrails.org and fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation.
