FS1470 Palatki Grotto Panel 3
sketchfab
This is the central part of a rock art panel 3 in the Grotto Alcove of the Palatki Heritage Site northwest of Sedona, Arizona, located in the Coconino Forest. The panel features Sinagua, Archaic, and possibly Apache pictographs and petroglyphs. On the right side of the model are red Archaic "Ghosty Guys." To their left is an Archaic "rake" symbol. Further to the left are remnants of what may be a Sinagua "Heron" or "Crane" clan symbol, which has partially spalled off and been superimposed by Sinagua or Apache anthropomorphs. This model is part of an ongoing project to document the progressive degradation of rock art symbols at this site. Additional information about the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest can be found on the following websites: sedonaredrocktrails.org, fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation.
