This is the westernmost area of rock art panel 7, located within the Grotto Alcove of the Palatki Heritage Site northeast of Sedona, Arizona in the Coconino Forest. The central white anthropomorphic pictograph is interpreted to represent a "carried" flute player and is believed to be one of only three or four variations known in the SW from pre-Hopi cultures. This pictograph should be compared to 3D models FS1466 and FS1467, which are situated 15-20 feet to the right (east) of this panel. Further information about the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest can be found at the following web sites: http://www.sedonaredrocktrails.org/ http://www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation Information about volunteer opportunities in the Coconino Forest, including the creation of 3D models and other projects, can be found at http://www.friendsoftheforestsedona.org/
