FS1445 Palatki Grotto Alcove Rock Art Panel 9
sketchfab
This is a small area of rock art panel 9 at Grotto Alcove within Palatki Heritage site northwest of Sedona, Arizona in Coconino Forest. Petroglyphs here are mainly attributed to Archaic and Sinagua pre-historic Indian cultures. These examples clearly show evidence of younger (Sinagua) impacts superimposed over older probable Archaic scratching. This is one of the areas at the site where cliff face archaeological evidence are at risk due to rock surface spalling and progressive loss of imagery sections. Additional information about Red Rock District of Coconino Forest can be found on http://www.sedonaredrocktrails.org/ and http://www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation.
