Frugal USB Case
thingiverse
I often collect USB memory sticks from conferences as novelty or corporate curiosities, usually incorporated into some bulky promotional body. Eventually the novelty of a USB battleship, tank, or train engine wears off and the electronics is all I really want. A popular form factor when stripped down is 1 x 11 x 25 mm. This would be OK except the 1 mm height is too thin for good contact, so giving it a new frugal housing is sensible. Here's my first design for making a stripped down USB stick useful. It incorporates a 2-part case: one is the internal 1.5 mm high frame for the USB and the other slides over it as the outer 2 mm high body, which also contains a diagonal 1 mm corner hole for attaching with a piece of, say, fishing line if desired. A cap? Caps are SO yesterday, but I can add it for any comment requesting one. Also, if there's any particular logo or text (or any suggestion for improvement) I'm open to requests.
