I'm really impressed with my Frsky X-lite and the range of its internal patch antenna, which I've been using for a couple of weeks now. The antenna came with a ufl connector and some sticky tape on it, but you'll need to install a male ufl connector onto the board or solder it directly. My racing experience is in multigp, where crazy range isn't necessary, so I'm getting 2.5 football fields of range without any RSSI warnings. The plug also fits perfectly in my Frsky X9-Lite, and you can even use the X-lite patch antenna. You can check out some great deals on internal antennas like this one at horusrc.com or eBay. There's a video review on YouTube that shows how to install it, so be sure to take a look if you're interested in making the mod. The plug is made from Tpu filament and can be installed when your controller is put together. I cut some plastic off the top of my Taranis to get that flush look, which looks really cool. This plug can also be used with crossfire or r9m modules, but do this mod at your own risk - I don't take responsibility for bricking your controller.
